My novel is about an 8th grade class who go on a field trip to Plymouth, MA. They stay at a haunted hotel and deaths soon occur. There's a lot more to it but I don't want to give the plot away. I already started writing it, a flashfoward from the end. "They shot him – not even giving any chance to run. I had no idea I was going to get stuck in this situation. It was difficult for me to understand why he, whoever he was, couldn't just take me - rather than my best friend. I had no clue the field trip I had been looking forward to would be the worst experience of my life. I was in hell. " Is that good? Also I know like I said I already started it, but I'm not WHERE to start the actual story. Should they be on the bus going there? What should be happening? Please help! :) Also what are some good ways to describe the characters without it getting boring? *Sigh.* I'm not asking you to write it for me. I'm asking what beginning would be the most interesting and make the most sense for the plot. For example should she be getting dressed, in the car on the way there, on the bus or..?
