A motorist has been critically injured by a hit and run accident on Route 44 westbound in Plymouth, Massachusetts Monday (06-28-10) afternoon around 4:30 PM . According to emergency broadcast reports, an unidentified 45 year-old motorist who got out of her car on the highway was struck by another motorist who fled the scene. She sustained reported serious injuries. A Medflight helicopter was called to land at the scene but was unavailable due to weather. A short while later Plymouth police discovered the alleged vehicle involved in the hit and run accident crashed into a building at the intersections of Sandwich Road and Winter Street. The injured driver was transported to Jordan Hospital with reported serious injuries. Plymouth and State Police are investigating both accident scenes.
